Mountain Top Explorium (MTE) is excited to offer after school and school break camps again for the 2023-2024 school year. We are thankful for the financial support from The Summit Foundation, Epic Promise, and the Town of Breckenridge in support of these programs. This funding allows MTE to offer the program at a subsidized rate plus the providing additional scholarships.
We are still determining the details of our after school and school break programs for the duration of the school year, but we have confirmed all details for session 1 which includes programming at Mountain Top Explorium each day after school from August 21-September 14th. The program will be offered Monday-Thursday throughout session 1 at the museum. MTE staff will go to Breckenridge Elementary and walk students to the museum each afternoon but the program will be available to any students whether you are from another school or homeschooled and looking for an enriching STEM based program experience. Why Only Monday-Thursday and no after school on Friday?
In past years, Mountain Top Explorium has offered programming Monday-Friday. It is always our intention to best serve the needs of our community. Due to increased pressure on staffing and low enrollment on Fridays, we have made the decision to limit our after school program to Monday-Thursday. We will continue to measure the need and assess our ability to return to full week programming.
When will you be opening registration for School Break Camp?
We’re excited to offer Mountain Top Explorium programming during most of the Summit School District break periods. This includes vacation days and teacher in-service days. We are still determining all of the program details and hope to have registration open by August 20th. We are working with the District and community partners to nail down our schedule, curriculum, and fee structure. We will update our after school and school-break camp webpages as we our plans develop.
