Week five of Summer Day Camp at Mountain Top Explorium has come to an end! This week's theme was "Spirit Week", and each day brought on a new wacky concept for campers to experience.
Monday was MTE Spirit Day, and campers were getting ready for the 4th of July. We had a Fireworks in a Jar Experiment, a Straw Fireworks Craft, and even a limbo competition!
We had a day off of camp on Tuesday to celebrate the holiday, but jumped back in on Wednesday with Wacky Wednesday! Campers dressed in their wackiest outfits and took part in some awesome Dr. Suess Activities. We played a Hop on Pop Balloon Game, made Wacky Paper Bag Puppets, and had a Cat in the Hat STEM Challenge!
Thursday was "Twin Day" where some of our campers tried their best to confuse their counselors, by matching outfits with their friends! The kids attended the NRO Family & Friends concert at the Riverwalk Center, and had an afternoon filled with different challenges. Finally, Friday was Field Day and Movie Day! Campers competed in a 3 legged race, a sack race, and a wheelbarrow race. The campers even beat the counselors! In the afternoon, the kids brought out their pajamas and favorite stuffies, to enjoy a popcorn making experiment and Finding Nemo!
