Ready to turn your summer into a launchpad for your future? The Leadership & Lifesaving program is a premier track within our new Leadership Series, designed specifically for students ready to step into roles of responsibility. This intensive experience combines the gold standard of American Red Cross training with real-world, "on-the-floor" practice. Participants don't just learn about childcare—they practice it under the mentorship of professional staff, gaining the confidence needed to lead in their own communities and within the Explorium’s own internship pipeline.
Dates: June 8–12
Grades: 6–8
Cost:
Before March 5 $425 (Summit District: $350)
After March 5th $475 (Summit District: $375)
Schedule: Mon–Thurs, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (Option to add Friday ELC)
Weekly Highlights

Professional Caregiving: Master the business of childcare, from age-appropriate play and behavior management to professional communication with parents.
Lifesaving Fundamentals: Gain hands-on training in Adult, Pediatric, and Pediatric CPR and AED usage to stay calm and provide critical care in emergencies.
Base Camp Practicum: Transition from the classroom to the field, working directly with younger students to practice communication and group management.
Leadership Labs: Participate in daily workshops focused on the "Explorium Way," learning how to facilitate STEM activities and manage group dynamics.
Leadership Portfolio: Build a resume with official certifications and a certificate of completion documenting leadership hours for future internships.
Capstone Challenge: Collaborate to design, lead, and reflect on an original activity, discovering a unique, personal leadership style.
